It is our
intention, when running group development sessions, to make them as close
to a 1:1 coaching session as possible; so the group size is restricted
to ideally six (maximum eight) delegates. We combine our input and experiences
with the delegates’ own live, work based issues to raise skill levels.
We set up scenarios for practise sessions and ensure the delegates produce
written actions for implementation back in the workplace; plans that can
also be used for 1:1 follow up coaching.

We have
found that when a manager really concentrates on the actual words used
during, for example, feedback sessions, it can have an enormous effect
on an individual’s motivation as well as subsequent skill level.
